Overview
ISO 9001 sets the requirements for a quality management system (QMS): how an organisation understands customer and regulatory requirements, controls its processes, measures results and improves. It is the most widely used management system standard in the world and is adopted in India by the Bureau of Indian Standards as IS/ISO 9001.
Certification is carried out by an independent certification body. In India, certification bodies are accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB). Aaditech is a consultant: we build and prepare the system, and the certification body audits it.
Who needs it
- Manufacturers supplying OEMs, government buyers and export customers.
- Tender bidders, where ISO 9001 is often a qualifying condition.
- BIS licensees who want factory inspections to go smoothly.
- Service companies, laboratories and traders looking for a credible quality system.
What the standard asks for
| Area | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Context and leadership | Scope, interested parties, quality policy and objectives |
| Planning | Risks and opportunities, and how they are addressed |
| Support | Competence, training, calibration, documented information |
| Operation | Customer requirements, design, purchasing, production and release |
| Performance evaluation | Monitoring, customer satisfaction, internal audit, management review |
| Improvement | Nonconformities, corrective action and continual improvement |

- System design and documentation tied to how your plant actually runs.
- Training for management, process owners and internal auditors.
- Implementation and building of records over several weeks.
- Internal audit and management review, with corrective actions closed.
- Certification audit in two stages by an accredited certification body.
How Aaditech helps
Our team, led by former Directors of the Bureau of Indian Standards, runs its own accredited system as an NABCB-accredited inspection body under ISO/IEC 17020. We build quality systems that satisfy auditors and still make sense on the shop floor, and we align them with BIS licence requirements for manufacturers who hold ISI or CRS licences.
