- Send samples. We help with labels, the test request and any technical documents the tests need.
- Testing and report. Tests are carried out under NABL accreditation and the report lists each clause, the requirement and the result.
- Review and use. We check the report before you submit it to BIS, a tender authority or your customer, and help if they raise a query.

Frequently asked questions
Which IS 9857 tests are NABL accredited?
All 15 tests listed on this page are within NABL accreditation (ISO/IEC 17025), each against the clause of IS 9857 shown next to it. The report carries the NABL accreditation mark for these tests.
Can the IS 9857 test report be used for BIS certification?
Yes. Testing to IS 9857 is available at a BIS-recognised laboratory, so the report can be submitted with a BIS application. BIS may still draw its own samples during the factory inspection.
How many samples are needed for IS 9857 testing?
It depends on the product, its variants and the tests you need. Share the product details and the purpose of the test (BIS, tender or customer) and we will send the sample list and a quote.
Can you test only some clauses of IS 9857?
Yes. For a tender, a customer complaint or a design check, we can test selected clauses. For BIS certification or a type test, every applicable clause has to be covered.
