Restricted Substances & RoHS Testing

NABL-accredited testing for restricted and hazardous substances: RoHS substances in electrical products to IEC 62321, element migration from toys to EN 71-3, and azo dyes, phthalates, organotins and other chemicals in textiles, leather and footwear.

Independent private consultancy. Aaditech is not BIS or any government department and is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. Licences are granted only by the authority, and you can apply directly on its portal. Our consultancy fees are separate from official fees.

Electrical and electronic products are tested to the IEC 62321 series for the RoHS substances: lead, mercury and cadmium (by X-ray screening and ICP), hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls and diphenyl ethers, and phthalates.

Toys and children's products are tested for migration of elements to EN 71-3 and ISO 8124. Textiles, leather, footwear, plastics and coated products are tested for aromatic amines from azo dyes (IS 15570, IS 582), restricted disperse dyes (IS 16914), phthalates (IS 16915), organotin compounds (IS 16981), hexavalent chromium, formaldehyde, dimethyl fumarate and chlorophenols, nickel release (EN 1811) and lead in paints and coatings.

Antimicrobial activity of textiles to IS/ISO 20743 is also in scope.

Who it's for

  • Electronics brands and importers who need RoHS data for the E-Waste (Management) Rules
  • Toy manufacturers and importers
  • Textile, leather and footwear exporters meeting buyer restricted-substance lists
  • Paint and coating makers checking lead content

How it works

  1. Share the product and the purpose: BIS certification, a tender, a customer or export.
  2. Get the test plan. We list the standard, clauses, number of samples, cost and timeline.
  3. Send samples with the test request and technical documents.
  4. Receive the NABL accredited report, reviewed by us before you submit it.

Frequently asked questions

Do you test for RoHS?

Yes. Lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB, PBDE and phthalates are tested to the IEC 62321 series under NABL accreditation, with X-ray screening and ICP confirmation.

Can toys be tested to EN 71-3?

Yes. Migration of elements such as lead, cadmium, chromium, arsenic, barium and antimony is tested to EN 71-3 and ISO 8124. We confirm which tests your BIS toy licence or buyer needs before testing.

Which restricted chemicals can be tested in textiles and leather?

Aromatic amines from azo dyes, restricted disperse dyes, phthalates, organotin compounds and nickel release, to IS 15570, IS 582, IS 16914, IS 16915, IS 16981 and EN 1811.
