What accreditation means

Why ISO/IEC 17020 accreditation matters

ISO/IEC 17020 sets the requirements for bodies that perform inspection. Accreditation by NABCB means an independent assessor has confirmed that our inspectors are competent, our methods are documented and our decisions are impartial. NABCB checks this again through regular surveillance.

As a Type A inspection body we are fully independent of the items we inspect. We don't design, manufacture, supply, install or buy them. Buyers, utilities and tender authorities can rely on our reports for that reason.

Our accredited scope covers stage-wise and final inspection of electrical equipment: cables and conductors, energy meters, transformers, switchgear, lamps and LEDs, appliances, capacitors, motors, insulators and related items. For the full schedule of scope, see our NABCB listing.
