How BS 7655 testing works

- Send samples. We help with labels, the test request and any technical documents the tests need.
- Testing and report. Tests are carried out under NABL accreditation and the report lists each clause, the requirement and the result.
- Review and use. We check the report before you submit it to a regulator, a tender authority or your customer, and help if they raise a query.
Frequently asked questions
Which BS 7655 tests are NABL accredited?
All 30 tests listed on this page are within NABL accreditation (ISO/IEC 17025), each against the clause of BS 7655 shown next to it. The report carries the NABL accreditation mark for these tests.
Is the BS 7655 test report accepted outside India?
NABL is a signatory to the ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement, so its accredited reports are recognised by accreditation bodies in other member countries. Your buyer or regulator still decides what it accepts, so we confirm their requirement before testing.
How many samples are needed for BS 7655 testing?
It depends on the product, its variants and the tests you need. Share the product details and the purpose of the test (BIS, tender or customer) and we will send the sample list and a quote.
Can you test only some clauses of BS 7655?
Yes. For a tender, a customer complaint or a design check, we can test selected clauses. For BIS certification or a type test, every applicable clause has to be covered.
